Potential Patriot Baseball players need to come a get a schedule of events for Baseball this spring from Coach Fischer.

 

Attention: Any SENIOR who wants to take the ASVAB this spring needs to inform Mrs. Wilmes ASAP!

 

On Tuesday, February 19th, Mr. Wilkerson will take students on a tour of Best Home Furnishings in Ferdinand.  After the tour at Best, we will eat lunch (fast food) and then go to OFS in Huntingburg for a tour.  We will leave school at about 8:30 a.m and return to school by 2:40 p.m.  Please email Mr. Wilkerson or see Ms. Knies in the guidance office to sign up.  Remember this is a great opportunity to learn about careers, internships and summer jobs.

 

Any student interested in playing Varsity Boys Golf this year needs to sign up in the front office by February 28th.

Anyone interested in attending a running camp that is being held this summer at Lincoln State Park should see Coach Denning for a camp brochure.  Don't wait too long, or it is possible that the camp is full.

FOR JUNIOR AND SENIOR GIRLS: Do you hope to go to prom but are not sure you can afford a dress? “Cinderella’s Closet” in Owensboro provides young women the opportunity to obtain a dress and accessories free of charge.  A school referral and an appointment to visit “Cinderella’s Closet” at Owensboro Christian Church on either Friday March 15 or Saturday March 16 is all that is necessary.  See Mrs. Wilmes if you are interested in finding out more. Hurry – deadline for this opportunity is February 15.

 

Don't forget to purchase your 2019 yearbook!  The price is currently $51, but it increases in March.  You can make your purchase online at the Josten website or bring a check (made to HHHS) or cash to Ms. Gasaway.

 

Attention!  All Football players in grades 10-12 who played during the 2018 season.  We will be recognized as 2018 PAC Champions at the basketball game on Friday, February 15th.  We will be recognized before the start of the varsity game.   The JV game starts at 5:30.  Please be at the game no later than 6:30.  This is a great opportunity for us to be recognized as Champions in front of our community.  After we are recognized we will cheer on the basketball team as they take on Tell City for the PAC Championship.  Please make every effort to attend.

Attention JUNIORS : You are invited to attend Hoosier Girls or Boys State, to be held this summer at Trine University in June. It is paid for by the local American Legion. This is a unique summertime educational program that is designed to mirror the structure and operation of the Indiana state government, while providing training in citizenship, leadership and character development. Some past attendees include former Governor Mitch Daniels, Senator Lugar, Astronaut Neil Armstrong, President Bill Clinton, and Basketball player Michael Jordan. It is an honor to attend. Community Foundation Alliance Scholarships – Spencer County

The Community Scholarship Program is made up of various scholarships funds.  These opportunities were created by donors to provide Spencer County students with opportunities for advanced education.  Go to www.communityfoundationalliance.org/spencer/scholarships/apply/  Read the instructions and tips on How to Apply.  Locate Spencer Scholarships – See All. Read over each scholarship’s criteria to determine your eligibility.  Note----deadlines and access codes vary.  Once you are ready to apply, click on the Apply button to be redirected to the application portal. After the online applications are submitted, HHHS will receive a list from the organization of all the student's names and send them the transcripts at that time.

Are you interested in law enforcement or the military? Consider attending the Indiana Youth Cadet Law Enforcement Academy this summer. A local American Legion may pay the fee. Health Careers Camp 2019 – July 24-25-26 - Memorial Hospital and Vincennes University

Are you interested in learning more about health careers?  Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center and Vincennes University Jasper Campus Heath Careers Camp is designed for you. This camp will provide high school students (sophomores, juniors, or seniors) with engaging activities, educational sessions and practical advice to further explore and pursue health care careers. This 3 day, 8:30am to 3:00pm, action-packed camp will give participants insight into college life and a variety of health care careers.  Application packets can be picked up in the HHHS Guidance Office.  Camp fee is $30. Registration is limited with deadline to apply being June 3.

Lake Rudolph Campground & RV Resort will be hosting our annual Job Fair on Saturday, March 2, from 9:00 am – Noon CT.

 

Those interested in seasonal work this summer are invited to attend anytime during this 3-hour period. Up to 150 positions are available in the following areas: Activities, Grounds, Maintenance, Overnight Gate Attendant, Guest Services/Welcome Center, Housekeeping, Lifeguards, Rangers, Resort Reservation Specialists, Camp Store, Snack Bar Attendants, and Shuttle Drivers.

Tri-County YMCA Summer 2019 Day Camp Counselors – must be at least 18 years old We are seeking Camp Counselors who will provide direct supervision of a group of children in a day camp setting at Ferdinand, Jasper, and Tell City.
