Anyone interested in attending a running camp that is being held this summer at Lincoln State Park should see Coach Denning for a camp brochure.  Don't wait too long, or it is possible that the camp is full.

 

Volleyball will have a meeting in Rm 215 this Friday morning at 7:40! 

 

Looking for current or summer employment? Samuel Martin, graduate of the class of 2018 is running a painting business in Santa Claus and the surrounding area this summer, and needs the help of outgoing individuals. He is in need of marketing employees currently. Hours are very flexible, and marketers will be paid on commission and start right away. This work will look great on any resume, and professional sales skills can be used on a wide array of professional projects. Also, if you are interested in painting for Sam this summer, he will be in the high school during lunch this Friday, February 8th. Feel free to come up and ask about possible employment. High school track season starts on Monday, February 11, 2019. All athletes must have a physical to attend practice. Please contact Coach Mix with any questions or concerns.

Important! Students registered to take the ACT on Saturday, Feb. 9 at Heritage Hills are reminded that the doors open at 7:15 CST and the test will start at 8:00. Students should report to the cafeteria for check-in with their admission ticket and photo ID. Students will NOT be allowed to test without these two items. Students with questions should ask Mrs. Wilmes immediately – do not wait until Saturday morning, as computers for printing admission tickets will NOT be available. Testers should also bring two SHARPENED pencils (mechanical pencils are not allowed) and a calculator. Students may pick up a practice booklet in Guidance. ACT without Writing ends around 12:00. ACT with Writing ends around 12:30.

 

FOR JUNIOR AND SENIOR GIRLS: Do you hope to go to prom but are not sure you can afford a dress? “Cinderella’s Closet” in Owensboro provides young women the opportunity to obtain a dress and accessories free of charge.  A school referral and an appointment to visit “Cinderella’s Closet” at Owensboro Christian Church on either Friday March 15 or Saturday March 16 is all that is necessary.  See Mrs. Wilmes if you are interested in finding out more. Hurry – deadline for this opportunity is February 15.

Attention Juniors and Seniors!

Mr. Wilkerson will be taking students on a tour of National Office Furniture (Santa Claus) on Wednesday, February 13th from 1:00-2:30 p.m.  Students will tour the facility and then hear a short presentation from an HR manager about careers, wages, benefits and programs available at NOF.  Please stop by the guidance office and see Ms. Knies to sign up for this tour.  Senior students will be given priority.

 

Attention!  All Football players in grades 10-12 who played during the 2018 season.  We will be recognized as 2018 PAC Champions at the basketball game on Friday, February 15th.  We will be recognized before the start of the varsity game.   The JV game starts at 5:30.  Please be at the game no later than 6:30.  This is a great opportunity for us to be recognized as Champions in front of our community.  After we are recognized we will cheer on the basketball team as they take on Tell City for the PAC Championship.  Please make every effort to attend.

An informational meeting for parents will take place on February 5 at 5pm in Ms. Lauck's classroom (112) to learn about all the exciting things we'll see and how to enroll. Attention JUNIORS : You are invited to attend Hoosier Girls or Boys State, to be held this summer at Trine University in June. It is paid for by the local American Legion. This is a unique summertime educational program that is designed to mirror the structure and operation of the Indiana state government, while providing training in citizenship, leadership and character development. Some past attendees include former Governor Mitch Daniels, Senator Lugar, Astronaut Neil Armstrong, President  Bill Clinton, and Basketball player Michael Jordan. It is an honor to attend. Community Foundation Alliance Scholarships – Spencer County

The Community Scholarship Program is made up of various scholarships funds.  These opportunities were created by donors to provide Spencer County students with opportunities for advanced education.  Go to www.communityfoundationalliance.org/spencer/scholarships/apply/  Read the instructions and tips on How to Apply.  Locate Spencer Scholarships – See All. Read over each scholarship’s criteria to determine your eligibility.  Note----deadlines and access codes vary.  Once you are ready to apply, click on the Apply button to be redirected to the application portal. After the online applications are submitted, HHHS will receive a list from the organization of all the student's names and send them the transcripts at that time.

Are you interested in law enforcement or the military? Consider attending the Indiana Youth Cadet Law Enforcement Academy this summer. A local American Legion may pay the fee. Health Careers Camp 2019 – July 24-25-26 - Memorial Hospital and Vincennes University

Are you interested in learning more about health careers?  Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center and Vincennes University Jasper Campus Heath Careers Camp is designed for you. This camp will provide high school students (sophomores, juniors, or seniors) with engaging activities, educational sessions and practical advice to further explore and pursue health care careers. This 3 day, 8:30am to 3:00pm, action-packed camp will give participants insight into college life and a variety of health care careers.  Application packets can be picked up in the HHHS Guidance Office.  Camp fee is $30. Registration is limited with deadline to apply being June 3.

Sophomores Only-

The University of Indianapolis is seeking nominations from high schools across the region for sophomores to attend the 2019 Mayor Gregory A. Ballard Summit: Embracing the Future.  We ask Indiana schools to nominate three sophomores with strong interest in business, technology and entrepreneurship. This event will be held at the University of Indianapolis Saturday, February 16, 2019. Students will engage in discussions with former Indianapolis Mayor Ballard on the future of business, innovation, entrepreneurship and leadership–and the role this group of students will play in shaping the future. No cost to you except providing travel expenses to Indianapolis. Stop by the Guidance Office if interested in being considered as a candidate.
