Heritage Hills will host a financial aid meeting on Thursday, November 8 at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium.  Seniors and parents will learn the process for completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and for securing loans.  It is recommended that ALL students who hope to attend college file the FAFSA, regardless of family income, since some scholarships require its completion. Families can begin filing as of October 1, based on 2017 income. This meeting is to provide information and support to parents.  To submit the FAFSA, go online to www.fafsa.gov and select the 2019-2020 FAFSA. Ask a counselor for more information.

Attention Sophomores: Consider attending the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership program! HOBY ambassadors have strong leadership potential. The program is for students who have strong skills in communication, critical/creative thinking, decision-making, courage to speak out, and participation in community service.  It is a prestigious program that involves tenth graders across the country. It can be an amazing educational and personal experience. HOBY will be held next summer in Indianapolis. It is a 3 day experience and the dates will be set officially in November, but it will be early June 2019. The $225 fee is generally paid by a local organization, so this opportunity can be free. Find out more by visiting www.hoby.org. You may ask more about the program from our upperclassmen who have attended HOBY: Luke Peters and Daley Atchison. See Mrs. Tempel soon if you want to be inquire about this opportunity. Mrs. Tempel is gathering a list of interested students during the month of October and will get with them about next steps to try and go to the program.
