The 'Going Out of Business Sale' has started for the bookstore.  All merchandise is discounted by 10% this week.

The 8th annual Danielle’s Dash 5K Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, May 12th at Yellig Park in Santa Claus.  All proceeds of this race will go to the Danielle Nicole Reinke Heritage Hills Scholarship Fund.  The race will begin promptly at 8am with registration opening at 7am.  Entry fee is $20 if you sign up by Wednesday, April 25 or $25 on the day of the race. Participants will receive a Danielle’s Dash t-shirt, post- race snack and drink. To learn more about the United States Service Academies you are invited to attend Academy Day at Vincennes University - Gibson County Center, 8100 South US Hwy 41,Fort Branch, IN  47648. Registration is 8:30am CT Program 9:00-11:00am CT on Saturday May 12, 2018.  

STUDENTS:  Counselors have now met with ALL STUDENTS to choose classes for next year. Soon, schedules will be locked in. Any student who needs to make a change of ANY KIND needs to see a counselor within one week. There will be minimal changes made in May and NO CHANGES after we leave for summer. Ask a counselor if you need to review your course requests so that your schedule is accurate for fall.

FFA Banquet Friday, April 20th.  Turn in reservation forms ASAP.  There is no cost for banquet this year.

HHHS Athletes:  Student athletes need to come to the HS Office to get the 2018/19 school year athletic physical packet. Heritage Hills Athletic Dept. will be hosting physicals Monday April 23 in the red gym from 6pm- 8pm. Cost will be $25.

Saturday April 21, the choir department is hosting a carry-out BBQ Chicken Dinner. It includes 1/2 chicken, creek fries, baked beans, cole slaw, and choice of dessert. Tickets are $10.00 and are on sale now.  Please contact Mrs. Staffeld or any choir student for tickets! 

Memorial Hospital/Health Care Center and Vincennes University/Jasper Campus are hosting a daytime summer camp on July 25, 26, 27 for students who will be sophomores, juniors, and seniors in the Fall of 2018.  If you have an interest in professions within the healthcare industry, this is the camp for you. Stop by the HHHS Guidance Office to pick up an application. The deadline is June 4, 2018. Cost is $30.00

Guidance

JUNIOR boys are invited to attend Boys State, to be held this summer at Trine University in Angola, Indiana from June 17-23. Boys who are in the top 1/2 of their class are eligible to apply. It is paid for by the local American Legion. Boys State is a unique summertime educational program that is designed to mirror the structure and operation of the Indiana state government, while providing training in practical citizenship, leadership and character development. Some past attendees include Mitch Daniels, Richard Lugar, Astronaut Neil Armstrong, Bill Clinton, Newscaster Tom Brokaw and Michael Jordan. Students interested in government, history, political science, law enforcement or the military may be especially interested. It is a very prestigious program. The $300 fee is paid by a local organization. This Saturday, the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra has invited the HH Choir to perform with them at Lincoln Amphitheater for a John Williams Tribute Concert.  Who is John Williams? He composed many classic movie scores such as Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, Jaws, Saving Private Ryan. Superman, and E.T.  You are sure to enjoy this fun-filled concert along with some Patriotic favorites.  Pre-Show, provided by the HH Middle School choir, begins at 6:30. This scholarship provides 200 high-achieving high school and college students interested in pursuing a career in education the opportunity to earn a renewable scholarship of up to $7,500 each year for four academic years. In exchange, students agree to teach for five years at an eligible Indiana school.  Applications are due by 11:59pm EST on November 30, 2017. The application opens on September 1, 2017

The Guidance Department at HHHS will be hosting an informational session for the Class of 2019 and their parents on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 6:30 p.m CST in the auditorium.“Senior Year 101” will provide important information for the Juniors as they prepare for their senior year and for life after high school. Regardless of a student’s plans after high school, this program has something for everyone. It is imperative that each student and a parent or guardian attend. Attendance prizes will be awarded and helpful materials provided. Ask a counselor if questions.
Any boy who is interested in trying out for the golf team needs to sign up in the office.
Students who have not yet completed the form that allows you to be published in the yearbook need to do so as soon as possible.  Parents need to fill out the online paperwork on their Harmony account.   If not your picture will not be in the yearbook.

The Guidance Department at HHHS will be hosting an informational session for the Class of 2019 and their parents on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 6:30 p.m CST in the auditorium.“Senior Year 101” will provide important information for the Juniors as they prepare for their senior year and for life after high school. Regardless of a student’s plans after high school, this program has something for everyone. It is imperative that each student and a parent or guardian attend. Attendance prizes will be awarded and helpful materials provided. Ask a counselor if questions.
Any boy who is interested in trying out for the golf team needs to sign up in the office.
Students who have not yet completed the form that allows you to be published in the yearbook need to do so as soon as possible.  Parents need to fill out the online paperwork on their Harmony account.   If not your picture will not be in the yearbook. 
 
SENIORS: Now is the time to file the FAFSA – “Free Application for Federal Student Aid” to get assistance to pay for college. The new deadline for state aid is April 15, 2018, however early filing allows families more time to receive and evaluate their financial aid package.  Go to www.fafsa.gov.

A representative from Brescia University will be here at HHHS during 3rd period, 10:03-10:50, on Tuesday, February 6th in the Periodical room  Seniors are invited, please sign up in the Guidance Office to attend.

Read through the available scholarships to find the ones to fit you. If you have any questions or concerns, please stop by the Guidance office.

It also lists which applications are free and has links to admissions websites. There is also a link to a College Costs Estimator to estimate your financial aid package at Indiana Colleges!

Attention JUNIOR BOYS: You are invited to attend Boys State, to be held this summer at Trine University in Angola, Indiana from June 17-23. It is paid for by the local American Legion. Boys State is a unique summertime educational program that is designed to mirror the structure and operation of the Indiana state government, while providing training in practical citizenship, leadership and character development. Some past attendees include our former Governor Mitch Daniels, Senator Lugar, Astronaut Neil Armstrong, President Clinton, Newscaster Tom Brokaw and Basketball player Michael Jordan.
