Beta members and new members: Induction begins at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday in the Red Gym. Please arrive at 1:15 p.m. Park outside Patriot Hall, and enter through those doors, since the cheer banquet will be taking place in the Commons Area. Members, please drop your treats off on the upper deck of the Red Gym upon arrival. Dress code: ladies, please ensure your dresses are long enough and high enough. Shoulder shows with straps are acceptable, but no strapless dresses. If you wear a strapless dress, then please wear something over it. This is a formal ceremony; professional attire is expected. Gentlemen, please wear dress pants or khakis with a nice shirt. No jeans, no t-shirts. If you have not responded to Mrs. Johnson's RSVP, please do so now.

 

The Boys Basketball banquet will be held on Sunday, April 14th at the Chateau Restaurant beginning at 4pm.  Meal will be served followed by recognition of all Freshmen, JV and Varsity players and managers.  Please dress accordingly for this event.

 

Any girl that played on the Middle School and High School teams last season need to meet in room (215) on Tuesday, April, 16th at 7:40 am

Ladies who are interested in the Teen Miss or Miss Spencer County Fair Scholarship Pageant may pick up an application in Guidance. These are to be returned to guidance no later than May 8. Ask a counselor if questions.

 

FFA - a post to the classroom has been made for the April Breakfast and the April Night Meeting (Kickball)  Please sign up there.

 

This week the library will celebrate National Library Week with contests and giveaways.  Come in and check it out!

 

Auditions for 2019-2020 choir will be held Tuesday April 16-Thursday April 18 3:15-5:30 in the choir room. Sign-ups will be on the auditorium door.   Anyone wanting to be a member of the Vocal Jazz I (Grace Notes) and Vocal Jazz 2 (Patriot Elite) must audition.  You will need to sing a 2-min song of your choice, preferably NOT A Cappella.  Anyone interested in Patriot Vibe Show choir, will audition WEDNESDAY only.  Wear comfortable attire, as you will learn a short dance routine. You will also need to prepare a 2-min song of your choice as well. Any questions, please see Mrs. Staffeld.

 

SENIORS who hope to attend any type of college or post secondary program is encouraged to file their FAFSA for financial aid. Deadline is April 15! To submit the FAFSA, go online to www.fafsa.gov.

 

The ASVAB 's new test date is Wednesday, April 17, beginning at 8:00.

Students who were already on the list will receive a new schedule soon. Any student who wants to be added to the testing list needs to tell Mrs. Wilmes right away.

 

This spring and summer HHHS will open the pool for age group swimming.  Coach Logan Ayer will hold practices at the high school pool.  Any student from 5th grade through high school may join.  The registration is under boonvilleaquaticdolphins.com and the link for Heritage Hills High School is under the Register tab.  From beginning of May until school is out, the practices will be held from 3:00-5:00.  During summer, the practices will be in the morning (time will be announced at a later date).  Signing up now will allow you a spot on the age group team.  You also have the opportunity to swim at a few meets in the summer as well.  If you have any questions, please feel free to email Coach Angie Spinner at aspinner@nspencer.k12.in.us.

To learn more about the United States Service Academies, you might want to attend this event. Saturday, April 27th Congressman Bucshon will host a Spring Academy Day in Fort Branch, Indiana. The event is from 8:30am – 11:00am CT.  All branches of the service will be represented.

Are you interested in law enforcement or the military? Consider attending the Indiana Youth Cadet Law Enforcement Academy this summer. A local American Legion may pay the fee. Health Careers Camp 2019 – July 24-25-26 - Memorial Hospital and Vincennes University

Are you interested in learning more about health careers?  Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center and Vincennes University Jasper Campus Heath Careers Camp is designed for you. This camp will provide high school students (sophomores, juniors, or seniors) with engaging activities, educational sessions and practical advice to further explore and pursue health care careers. This 3 day, 8:30am to 3:00pm, action-packed camp will give participants insight into college life and a variety of health care careers.  Application packets can be picked up in the HHHS Guidance Office.  Camp fee is $30. Registration is limited with deadline to apply being June 3.

Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial is currently accepting applications for the 2019 National Park Service Youth Conservation Corp (YCC).  6 positions will be advertised of which one will be a work leader.  It is preferred the work leader has 1 season of YCC experience.  The successful work leader candidate will provide leadership among their peers and assist in project supervision.  Employment will last a minimum of eight weeks, beginning June 3 and ending on July 26.  The youth leader will be paid $7.80 per hour, other enrollees will be paid $7.25 per hour for a 40 hour week and will work as a member of a crew performing a variety of tasks including custodial, building split rail fences, fence repair, mowing & trimming grass, trimming shrubs, trail repair and other maintenance chores around the park.  Work may require the use of shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, pruning shears, hand saws, hammers and other hand tools.  Participants will perform hard physical labor and may be exposed to insects, poison ivy, poison oak and adverse weather. Work schedules will be 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  (Central time) Monday – Friday.  Please return applications by April 15.

Anderson Woods Summer Camp is now accepting applications for counselors and volunteers.  The camp is located in Perry County and runs throughout June and July.
