Looking for something to do on a Friday night? Natural Helpers is hosting a movie night on Friday, January 11.  “The Breakfast Club” will be shown in the auditorium beginning around 9:00 – after the basketball game. The cost is free. Bottled water, fresh popcorn and candy will be available for purchase for $1 each. The movie is for high school students only.  Gather your friends and come out for this all-time favorite movie!

 

Patriot Voice would like to "Give the Gift of Warmth" to the community for the holidays. The Patriot Voice students would like to offer hot chocolate to anyone who donates gloves, hats, scarves, etc, to be delivered before the holidays. Students may also pay $1.00 for a cup of hot chocolate.  Money collected would then be used to purchase items for donation.  Donations will be accepted every morning through Friday. 

 

Community Foundation Alliance Scholarships – Spencer County

The Community Scholarship Program is made up of various scholarships funds.  These opportunities were created by donors to provide Spencer County students with opportunities for advanced education.  Go to www.communityfoundationalliance.org/spencer/scholarships/apply/  Read the instructions and tips on How to Apply.  Locate Spencer Scholarships – See All. Read over each scholarship’s criteria to determine your eligibility.  Note----deadlines and access codes vary.  Once you are ready to apply, click on the Apply button to be redirected to the application portal. After the online applications are submitted, HHHS will receive a list from the organization of all the student's names and send them the transcripts at that time.

 

 


A program called Truth Initiative is looking for young adults who are passionate about tobacco control to be one of ten Indiana 2019 truth Ambassadors.  Truth Ambassadors will participate in a year-long program, where they will develop a sustainable project that helps eliminate tobacco in their community (local, state or national), and learn how to better engage and mobilize other youth and young adults around tobacco issues. Participants will receive a stipend and financial support for their project.Candidates need to have previous experience with tobacco control advocacy or projects and also have the ability to travel to Washington D.C. and other locations 4-5 times throughout 2019 (all expenses paid). Applications will be accepted through December 31 at thetruth.com/truthambassadors. Questions? The ACT test is being given at Heritage Hills on Saturday, February 9. To register, go online to act.org. Deadline is January 11. Seniors who still need a test score for college admission or for scholarship opportunity may want to register for this test. College-bound Juniors are encouraged to take the ACT now to be more prepared for Senior year. See a counselor if questions.

 

The Indiana National Guard is sponsoring a Dodgeball Tournament at the Jasper Armory located at 1481 Bartley Street, Jasper, IN on December 28, 2018 beginning at 1:00EST.  Free pizza will be served at 3:00EST. Tri-County YMCA is hosting a Co-Ed Dodge ball Tournament on Thursday, December 27th.  The divisions are K-4th  grade ,5th-8th  grade  and 9th -12th grade and the cost is $30/team. Registration deadline is December 26th.  For more information, sign-up sheet and rules stop by the high school office. 

 

Youth grades K-12 are invited to join the long tradition of Spencer County 4-H.  They offer over 100 activities throughout the year. Evansville Teachers Federal Credit Union Scholarship Program - Ten $5000 will be awarded

We are pleased to announce we are continuing the Ted Hitch Scholarship Program.  

Qualifications:  1. Applicant or applicant’s parent/guardian must be a member of ETFCU for at least 18 months prior to 3/1/19  2. Student must have a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.75 on a 4.0 scale  3. Required use of at least 3 ETFCU services (see Section 1 on the application)  Stop by the HHHS Guidance Office for instructions and an application. Applications must be received by 3-1-19!

 

 

A representative from Brescia University is coming to HHHS on Tuesday January 15, 2019 during 3rd period 10:03-10:50.  If you are a Junior or a Senior and want to attend the meeting, please stop by the Guidance Office to sign up.
