Math Clinic today is cancelled due to Parent/Teacher conferences.

Mandatory informational meeting on Tuesday, September 26 at 7:20a.m.in the auditorium for anyone that has joined or would like to join the Rileys Dance Marathon committee. 

Sophomores:  If you want to order a class t-shirt, then see a class officer, Mrs. Sitzman or Mrs. Hochgesang.  You must pay when you order.  The cost is$10 and the deadline to order is Friday, September 29.  A picture of the t-shirt is in Mrs. Sitzman’s room.

Anyone who turned in vaccination forms late in Friday or Monday ( 9/18) need to be aware that the health dept placed their order for those turned in on time last Friday.  They will take those turned in late Friday and Monday and will try their best to accommodate, BUT can’t promise they will have enough vaccines.

Parents and community members are invited to attend an open house at Heritage Hills Middle/High School in conjunction with parent-teacher conferences on Thursday, September 21, 2017 and Monday, September 25 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. CDT.  School will still be in session as usual during these two days with conferences only during these evening hours.  Parents are encouraged to attend in order to view student’s work and discuss their child’s academic progress with the teachers.  

Computers will be available in the library media center during conferences for parents to view student’s grades on Harmony.  Parents who cannot attend, but would like to speak to teachers, are asked to call for an appointment at 812-937-2400.  Teacher e-mail can be accessed by visiting the Heritage Hills website atwww.nspencer.k12.in.us.

The bi-annual Scholastic Book Fair will also be featured in the HHHS library.  Middle/High school parents and students are encouraged to attend. The book fair will offer popular books, posters, and educational products for all ages, including the newest titles, award-winners, and classics.  

School pictures are on Wednesday, September 27.  Forms will be sent home this week.

The choir is selling HH magnets and personalized car decals for $5.00.  You can get a car decal with only the HH symbol OR add your favorite sport, club, or name.  (limit is 15 letters) See Mrs. Staffeld or any choir member to purchase! Go Patriots! 

BPA members...CHECK YOUR EMAIL!

BPA will be hosting a Dodgeball tournament on Saturday, October 14.  Sign up early so that your team doesn't get turned away.  Registration packets are in the office.  See Mrs. Hochgesang with questions.  

FFA - Greenhand Campout is September 23rd and 24th.  The permission forms are available from Mr. Steinmetz or in the front office.  The forms are due this Friday.  Start time is noon on the 23rd and be back to school at 10:00 am on the 24th.

FFA - District Kickoff will be held at Heritage Hills on September 26th.  Enjoy a good time meeting the state and district officers as well as others from all over the district.  Start time is 4:00 central time.

What is this about?

An innovative program designed to provide students, parents and community members with detailed information concerning local career opportunities.  Local industry representatives will discuss wages, working hours, insurance and benefit packages, 401K programs, education and training and career opportunities.  

Who should attend?  

  • Junior and Senior students and their parents.
  • Any individual who may be looking for local career opportunities – the public is welcome!

When?  

  • Monday, September 25th 6:00-7:00 p. m. central time

Where?  

  • Heritage Hills High School Auditorium

Why should I attend?   

  • To learn about upcoming educational/training opportunities
  • To learn about local career opportunities
  • To hear innovative ideas concerning affordable housing for graduating seniors
  • To hear from one of our industry partners – National Office Furniture
  • To have the opportunity to speak one on one with representatives from National Office Furniture
  • To enjoy some refreshments after the presentation
  • To have the opportunity to win a drone!   All junior or senior students who are in attendance with at least one of their parents will be eligible to win a drone.  Drawing for the drone will take place at the end of the presentation.

Seniors!  Remember that the deadline to submit your application for the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship is this Friday, September 22nd.  Late applications will not be accepted.  Make sure you hit the "submit" button and submit your application.  Applications left in "draft" form will not be accepted.

Vincennes University Jasper Center (VUJC) is hosting a college fair on Monday, October 2, from 5-6:30 HH CENTRAL STANDARD TIME. Students and parents are invited to attend to gather information about many college and post secondary programs. Following the college fair, a financial aid meeting will be hosted.

In exchange, students agree to teach for five years at an eligible Indiana school.  Applications are due by 11:59pm EST on November 30, 2017. The application opens on September 1, 2017.

  • Subway in Dale is now hiring.  Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Frosty’s is now hiring.  Stop in today and fill out an application.  Must be at least 14 years old.
  • Any high school young man that may be wanting to go into the diesel/transportation field needs to stop by the office and pick up information about a job opportunity.  Must be hard working, have a valid drivers license and attendance is important!

Friday, Sept. 1st, is the spirit night for Football. The game is at home against Pike Central starting at 7:00 PM. The theme is camo night. Come show your support for the football team. Pike Central won’t see us coming!

 

BPA is still accepting members....so you still have a change of going to Dallas, Texas this May!  See Mrs. Hochgesang for more information or come to the ECA meeting on Tuesday in Room 126.

 

Do you have an older relative or friend that would be interested in having an old HHHS yearbook? We have extra yearbooks we are needing to give away.  If you would like any yearbook from 2001-2014 please see Mrs. Gasaway in room 106 sometime between 3rd & 7th period.

Sports pictures will be taken on September 6th.

 

Any girl interested in a Scholarship opportunity for the Chrisney Fall Fest Scholarship Pageant should get a registration paper from Mr. Fischer.

This Saturday, the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra has invited the HH Choir to perform with them at Lincoln Amphitheater for a John Williams Tribute Concert.  Who is John Williams? He composed many classic movie scores such as Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, Jaws, Saving Private Ryan. Superman, and E.T.  You are sure to enjoy this fun-filled concert along with some Patriotic favorites.  Pre-Show, provided by the HH Middle School choir, begins at 6:30. Representatives from the Spencer County Community Foundation will be at Heritage Hills on Friday, Sept. 1st to share information concerning the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship.  Senior students who are interested should be in the Commons Area at 8:00 a. m. on Friday, Sept. 1st. 

 

USI is hosting a presentation for Latino students on September 11. Interested students should check their email or contact Mrs. Wilmes or Mrs. Troth for more information.
