Cornerstone UMC Church is hosting an Indiana Hunter Education course on April 4 2020 from 7:00am -5:30pm.  The class and materials are free but you must register on-line.  For more information stop by the office.

 

Slushies during lunch for Friendship Week complements of PATS!!!  Thursday, slushies during first lunch; Friday, slushies during second lunch.

  

Students interested in playing Boys' Golf must sign up in the main office.  This needs to be completed by February 28th.

The annual ART SHOW will be this Friday during the boys' basketball game vs Forest Park.


Attention Football Players who were on the State Championship roster!

Championship rings have arrived.  We will participate in a ring presentation ceremony at half time of the varsity basketball game vs Princeton on Tuesday, February 25th.  The coaches and I will pass out the rings in Patriot Hall before the start of the varsity game.  Please wear your Semi-State Championship T-shirt.  We did not secure a ring sponsor so you will need to pay $100 for your ring.  You must pay for your ring before you receive it.  Make checks to HHQB Club.  If you cannot afford the ring at this time, talk to Coach Wilk about a payment plan.  If you need to pay with a credit card, talk to Coach Wilk.

 

Attention Juniors and Seniors!  The industry tour of Jasper Engines is scheduled for Tuesday, February 18th.  Will will leave from the front office at 8:10am.  Please bring money for lunch.  You need to wear a long-sleeved shirt, long pants, and close-toed shoes. Stop by the Guidance Office or email Mr. Wilkerson twilkerson@nspencer.k12.in.us or Mrs. Knies cknies@nspencer.k12.in.us if you would like to attend. You do not need to fill out a form to attend.  Deadline to register for the trip is Friday, February 14th.

Attention Juniors and Seniors!

We will be taking juniors and seniors to the Regional Job and Career Fair Expo at the Tell City Ivy Tech on Thursday, March 5th.  Many regional employers participate in this career expo.  If you are looking for a summer job, an internship, or would like to network with professionals to explore various careers, this is a great opportunity!  You will be gone from school for about 2.5 hours that day.  We are still waiting for our exact time slot.  Please email Ms. Knies at cknies@nspencer.k12.in.us if you want to attend.  You may also stop by the guidance office and see her in person. The deadline to register is Friday, February 28th.

 

Attention JUNIORS GIRLS: You are invited to attend Hoosier Girls State, to be held this summer at Trine University June 21 - 27. This is a unique summertime educational program that is designed to mirror the structure and operation of the Indiana state government, while providing training in citizenship, leadership and character development. Students interested in government, history, political science, law enforcement or the military may be especially interested.It is a very prestigious program. The $300 fee is paid by a local organization. It is an honor to attend. GIRLS are to pick up an application in Guidance. Deadline is March 2. Mallory Tempel attended last summer. Ask Mallory or Mrs. Wilmes if questions.

Sophomore Class only - The University of Indianapolis is hosting the Gregory A. Ballard Summit on Saturday, February 29, 2020. This year's theme is titled Inspiring Tomorrow's Innovators Today. Three students interested in innovation, business, technology, entrepreneurship, and engineering will be chosen to attend the summit.  The summit is free of charge, but each student is responsible for your own transportation. Please stop by the Guidance Office if you want more information or want to sign up to attend.

Our school partners with EF – Education First High School Exchange Year - to bring culture to our school community. EF brings high school exchange students from 16+ different countries to study in the USA. Debbie Scott is the local coordinator that works closely with the school, students and host families to ensure everyone has a positive experience.  Debbie is looking for volunteer host families for the 2020-2021 school year.  If you are interested in this opportunity, please call her at 812-549-5067. EF has over 300 students waiting for their host family, and she would love to match one of them with you and your family! Debbie will have a table set up at the Boys Varsity Basketball game on Saturday, Feb 15 in order for families to ask questions!

 

 

SENIORS still needing to file the FAFSA? College Goal Sunday is a FREE statewide initiative that occurs annually to support Hoosiers in completing the FAFSA. The event will take place on Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 2:00 – 4:00pm local time with assistance being provided at 37 support sites positioned throughout the state.
