Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors with a 3.33333 or higher: It's not too late to get your Beta application picked up and filled out! Drop by Mrs. Johnson's room or stop by the lunch table today. All applications are due by 3:00 p.m. today. Please drop completed forms in the crate outside Mrs. Johnson's door.

 

Today is the last day to purchase an HHDM super soft sweatshirt. Cost is $20. Also, we have some event shirts leftover from last year ($5) and the FTK sweatshirts from last year ($10). Get them before they're gone!!!!

 

Attention to the girls who have registered to attend the Young Women LEAD Program at VUJC on Wednesday, March 11. To attend, girls must be passing all classes at the end of the 9 weeks, the field trip permission must be submitted in Harmony, and all girls must be able to leave school by 7:00 a.m. Inform Mrs. Wilmes immediately if you are unable to go so that another girl may attend in your place. More information will be shared with girls soon.

 

Juniors and Seniors!  Mr. Wilkerson will be taking 14 students to tour Best Home Furnishings in Ferdinand on Tuesday, March 3rd.  We will leave from the front office at 8:10. Students who attend must wear long pants, long sleeves and close-toed shoes.  Please bring money for lunch.

HHDM will be selling the super soft DM (Do More) morale shirts this week only during both lunches. Sweatshirts cost $20. Please see an Executive Council member at the table during lunch, if you would like to purchase one.

 

There is information in the office on the 4-H Media Club. This club will provide hands-on experience in radio and television production.

 

FOR JUNIOR AND SENIOR GIRLS: Do you hope to go to prom but are not sure you can afford a dress? “Cinderella’s Closet” in Owensboro provides young women the opportunity to obtain a dress and accessories free of charge.  A school referral and an appointment to visit “Cinderella’s Closet” at Owensboro Christian Church on either Friday March 20 or Saturday March 21 is all that is necessary.  See Mrs. Wilmes if you are interested in finding out more. Hurry – deadline for this opportunity is February 26.

 

Cornerstone UMC Church is hosting an Indiana Hunter Education course on April 4 2020 from 7:00am -5:30pm.  The class and materials are free but you must register on-line.  For more information stop by the office.

 

Students interested in playing Boys' Golf must sign up in the main office.  This needs to be completed by February 28th.


Attention Football Players who were on the State Championship roster!

Championship rings have arrived.  We will participate in a ring presentation ceremony at half time of the varsity basketball game vs Princeton on Tuesday, February 25th.  The coaches and I will pass out the rings in Patriot Hall before the start of the varsity game.  Please wear your Semi-State Championship T-shirt.  We did not secure a ring sponsor so you will need to pay $100 for your ring.  You must pay for your ring before you receive it.  Make checks to HHQB Club.  If you cannot afford the ring at this time, talk to Coach Wilk about a payment plan.  If you need to pay with a credit card, talk to Coach Wilk.

 

 

Attention Juniors and Seniors!

We will be taking juniors and seniors to the Regional Job and Career Fair Expo at the Tell City Ivy Tech on Thursday, March 5th.  Many regional employers participate in this career expo.  If you are looking for a summer job, an internship, or would like to network with professionals to explore various careers, this is a great opportunity!  You will be gone from school for about 2.5 hours that day.  We are still waiting for our exact time slot.  Please email Ms. Knies at cknies@nspencer.k12.in.us if you want to attend.  You may also stop by the guidance office and see her in person. The deadline to register is Friday, February 28th.

 

Attention JUNIORS GIRLS: You are invited to attend Hoosier Girls State, to be held this summer at Trine University June 21 - 27. This is a unique summertime educational program that is designed to mirror the structure and operation of the Indiana state government, while providing training in citizenship, leadership and character development. Students interested in government, history, political science, law enforcement or the military may be especially interested.It is a very prestigious program. The $300 fee is paid by a local organization. It is an honor to attend. GIRLS are to pick up an application in Guidance. Deadline is March 2. Mallory Tempel attended last summer. Ask Mallory or Mrs. Wilmes if questions.

Earn while you learn!  Opportunities are available for plumbers, pipefitters, welders, and HVAC-R technicians. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, possess a high school diploma, provide proof of a valid driver’s license, pass a drug screening, receive approved scores on the Work Keys test modules, and sit for an interview. The Tri-County YMCA:  
Are you looking for a job where you can make a difference in a child’s life?  Are you a big kid at heart?  Do you like to be active and creative during the summer months?  The Tri-County YMCA is seeking Camp Counselors who will provide direct supervision of a group of children in a day camp setting at Ferdinand, Jasper, and Tell City.  Candidates will need to display the ability to assist in the direction, planning, teaching, coordinating, and carrying out of activities and programs that are theme and developmentally appropriated while guiding campers in their own personal growth.  Camp Counselors must be enthusiastic, responsible, enjoy working with children, and have a passion for the YMCA and its mission.  Counselors must be 18 years or older.
