FAFSA – FREE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID
Families may complete the FAFSA, “Free Application for Federal Student Aid” beginning on October 1, 2021. The deadline for state aid is April 15, 2022, however early filing will allow seniors more time to receive and evaluate their financial aid package. Note that the tax information required for the FAFSA is for the year 2020. Click here to see a video about filling out the FAFSA. In addition, a helpful presentation has been provided to us by the University of Evansville: 2022-23 FAFSA Financial Aid Nights Presentation.pptx. Remember, each college has a financial aid office that can more specifically answer questions for your situation.
Prior to submitting the FAFSA, both the parent and the senior must have a FSA ID. This ID serves as an electronic signature for both. This can be done anytime at Create an FSA ID – Create Account | FSA ID. Click here to see a video about creating an FSA ID. Students need to use a personal email. To submit the FAFSA, go to www.fafsa.gov. Remember to submit the 2022-2023 FAFSA. After filing, students must consistently check their email for follow up tasks!

SCHOLARSHIPS
As they become communicated to HH, scholarships are posted on the school website:

Seniors should also check the website of the college/program that is being considered for financial aid/scholarship information and deadlines.
NOTE for students applying to Purdue: The Berkshire Award is no longer “automatic”.
It may not be awarded for students who apply late (after Nov. 1), who do not have a Spencer County address, who do not make academic progress, or other reasons. Purdue applicants are likely to get this scholarship,
but it is not promised. These students should view this award as supplemental in their financial aid planning.
