they would for their state flagship university.
TEST OPTIONAL POLICY/ TEST-OPTIONAL ADMISSION
Students now have the opportunity to choose to apply to Bellarmine as test-optional and
still receive the same consideration for merit and need-based scholarships.
U.S. NEWS & WORLD REPORT RANKS BELLARMINE AS ONE OF NATION’S BEST

We've partnered with Jefferson Community College to offer pathways for students. Students
can transfer after achieving at least 24 hours credit. Students who transfer to BU as part of
the Jefferson 2 Bellarmine program will pay a discounted tuition of $15,600. This is nearly a
$26,000 savings annually.

Check out what's new for the 2021 application:
-Purdue will be Test Flexible: In years past, Purdue University has always required test
scores as an integral part of the application and evaluation process. This year, in the light
of the coronavirus pandemic, Purdue will be going test flexible for the upcoming fall. For
Purdue, test flexible means that if a student has access to take an SAT or ACT test it is
encouraged that they do so, especially for the most competitive programs. However, we
recognize that possible cancellations and postponement of national standardized tests due
to the pandemic restrictions may be impacting students’ applications. With this in mind, we
will move forward and review any application from a student who is unable to take a
standardized test. Students that do not take a standardized test will not be held at a
disadvantage for being unable to provide test scores.
-Purdue will No Longer Use the Coalition Application: For the 2021 application cycle and
beyond, Purdue will no longer be utilizing the Coalition Application. Students interested in
applying for admission can only use the Common Application. The Purdue section of the
Common Application opened on August 1st.

STONEPILE is an institution of higher education that marries two industries ripe for
disruption: Higher Education and Construction. The 1.3 trillion-dollar construction field c
urrently lacks a robust team of leaders to innovate and build for tomorrow. The shortage of
skilled leaders in this industry is a national crisis. Yet, the field cannot attract enough bright
leaders because the students of today understandably expect to go to college, leaving many
of the typically technical trades lacking new leadership.
Enter STONEPILE. Now students don’t have to choose between a robust career in the
construction industry and pursuing higher education. STONEPILE provides the opportunity
for an Associate in Applied Science in Construction, Bachelor of Applied Science in
Construction Management, and Masters of Applied Science in Prefabricated, Offsite, and

the classroom), faculty, and even current students and alumni. You will also have the
opportunity to ask questions and meet other prospective Cardinals.
Please remember we are continuing to offer both in-person visits and virtual experiences
this fall. Just a couple of brief updates: 1.The University Honors Program will no longer
require ACT/SAT test scores for criteria to apply or be considered for the program. 2.The
Brown Fellows Program and Grawemeyer Scholarship applications will now be open to
students with 29 ACT and/or 1330 SAT (former criteria was 31 ACT and 1390 SAT.) The
GPA criteria remains 3.5 or above.
U of L admission-related information:
-Students applying as test optional through the Common App can use any of the
Common App essay prompts or our UofL Cardinal Principles prompt to meet the essay
requirement.
-The J.B. Speed School of Engineering is transitioning to a test score optional format for
admission. They are working to create a pathway for students that doesn’t require SAT or
ACT scores, and utilizes a placement exam to determine math readiness for an engineering
curriculum. In addition, students unable to test again this fall could submit test scores and
then also take a virtual math placement test if they did not meet the required SAT/ACT.
-The School of Nursing is also currently reviewing a test-optional policy to submit to their
faculty for consideration.
-U of L is preparing a pivot to scholarships based on grade point average. We hope to make
this announcement with details in early October.
-U of L will continue to monitor our admissions policies and our scholarship criteria where
test scores are required. We are tracking test cancellations and limited capacity at open
test centers due to COVID-19 restrictions. Students should contact their admissions
counselor for assistance and check their email from our office and our website for updates.

The CAP program continues to make significant strides. Currently we have (34) students
pursuing an Associates in Technical Maintenance. Twenty-nine students are working an
internship with one of twelve industry partners. Recent graduates earn approx. $45K/ year
their first year out. Most students graduate our program with ZERO or little debt - They earn
more than they pay out during the 2-yr. program. The need for skilled workers in Advanced Manufacturing and Automation continues to increase and so do respective earnings.
Interested students should be hands-on and enjoy a diverse array of work skills.

WKU has made changes to our admission requirements. We know that nationally, a student's GPA is a far better predictor of college success than standardized test scores, WKU will be shifting to test optional admission requirements. Under the new requirements, students with a minimum unweighted cumulative GPA of at least a 2.5 will not need to submit test scores for an admission decision. Please note, some WKU scholarships may still require submission of test scores to determine eligibility. Students with a 2.00-2.49 unweighted cumulative GPA will still need to submit test scores, and the student’s application will be evaluated on a competitive basis. More information is available online at wku.edu/admit.
WKU is currently offering campus tours!
Some things to keep in mind:
-To follow current guidelines for on-campus gatherings, tour groups will be limited to 9
participants per tour guide.
-To allow for flexibility should guidelines change, tour dates and registration will be made
available 2 weeks in advance of each tour.
-Our Day On Campus program has moved to a virtual format. You can schedule a live
virtual meeting and presentation with your WKU Admissions Counselor and view a
virtual tour with your classroom. Contact tours@wku.edu for more details!
We are excited to offer virtual visit opportunities this Fall!
