College Visit Procedures

Seniors are encouraged to attend college preview/open house days (posted on each college's website). These days allow for a campus tour, group presentations, and question and answer sessions to help students find out the much needed information on the potential schools. Many of these preview days are on Saturdays or during fall or spring break, so it may not be necessary to miss a day of school. If a school day must be missed for a college visit, the student and parent need to complete a college visitation/planned absence form found in the front office. A senior may have two school days not counted as absent. A junior may have one day not counted as absent. If requested, the guidance secretary may assist in scheduling a visit. In addition, colleges and universities send admission representatives to Heritage Hills to meet with interested seniors and juniors. Watch for posters and read the daily bulletin for these scheduled visits and be sure to sign up in the guidance office.
