Community Foundation Alliance Lilly Endowment for Spencer County

Many of our donors have honored their loved ones, communities, high schools, colleges, or professions by endowing scholarship opportunities through the Foundation.  We administer separate scholarship funds established by individuals, families, corporations, and organizations to assist local students in pursuit of advanced education.  Together, these scholarships make up our Community Scholarship Program. 
The Community Scholarship Program application is available on our website. 
The application deadline is Wednesday, February 17, 2021.

Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Scholarship

If you are a descendant of a graduate of the Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing, this scholarship opportunity could be for you if you are pursuing a license for Registered Nursing.

We will award one student pursing a four-year bachelor’s degree or a student pursuing a two-year associates degree in the field of Home Economics/Family and Consumer Science.

These scholarships are now closed for the 2020-2021 school year.
Read through the applications to find out if you qualify. If you quality, you need to print and complete the application form.  Completed application forms must be given to Mrs. Knies in the HHHS Guidance Office by the deadline date.  Note, some application forms need to be mailed to the donor's addresses.  If required, Mrs. Knies will print and attach your transcript upon receipt of the completed form.

Ferdinand Post 124 American Legion Scholarship
Open to a senior who is a child or grandchild of any Ferdinand Post 124 member, Sons of Legion member, or Auxiliary member.  This scholarship can be used for any four-year college, trade school, or a community college to obtain an associate degree. This application must be returned to the Ferdinand Legion Post prior to May 1, 2021.

Ferdinand Post 124 American Legion Auxiliary Education Gift
This is a $200 scholarship awarded to a child or grandchild of an Eighth District Auxiliary member.  This application must be returned to the Ferdinand Legion Post by March 15, 2021.

German American Bank and EVERFI Financial Literacy Bee- deadline April 15, 2021
The financial literacy course is available for students and their parents and features an essay scholarship contest open to high school students (ages 13-18). 
Those submitting an essay have the opportunity to win a college scholarship
up to $10,000.  To learn more about the Financial Literacy Bee and how to participate,
For 2021, German American Bank will be awarding an additional $2000 to winners
within its market area.  Four winners will be chosen, two in Indiana and two in Kentucky, with each recipient to receive a $500 savings account.

Gill Orthodontics – deadline March 24, 2021
We are pleased to continue our scholarship program established in 2004.  Two $1000 scholarships will be awarded to eligible high school seniors who are in treatment or have been in treatment with Gill Orthodontics.  You may go to our webpage for more information and to print a copy of the application form at www.gillorthodontics.com. The HHHS guidance office also has copies of the application form.

Indiana Hardwood Lumbermen’s Assn Scholarship – deadline Sept 30, 2021

Please forward the applications to leiberingfelicia@gmail.com as the applicants have to have a member sponsorship (Leibering Dimension, Inc.). Read the objective carefully. We are inspired by those who will use their education to better the hardwood industry. Applications are currently due September 30th of every year, but the committee is looking to move the due date to the second semester. Click here for more information and the application form.

If you are planning to attend a school in Indiana for your post-high school education, this scholarship opportunity....$1000 from the Kiwanis Club of Dale, is waiting for you.

LifeSpring Health Systems

We are a community healthcare organization that serves almost 12,000 individuals across 11 counties in Southern Indiana. Every year, the LifeSpring Foundation of Indiana organizes a high school senior scholarship and 8th grade essay contest open to all 8th graders and seniors at schools in our service area. One senior and 8th grader from each county (Clark, Crawford, Dubois, Floyd, Harrison, Jefferson, Orange, Perry, Scott, Spencer and Washington) we serve will be selected by a committee made up of the LifeSpring Foundation Board of Trustees. Winning senior applicants will receive a one-time $500 scholarship and winning 8th grade participants will receive a one-time $100 award while the 8th grade referring teacher will receive a $25 Amazon gift card to be used for school supplies/other needs

Nancy Jaynes Memorial Scholarship – deadline Feb 5, 2021
Awarded to Indiana high school seniors who have lost a parent or have a parent currently undergoing breast cancer treatment. Scholarships up to $2500 are available to students attending an Indiana college, university or post-secondary technical school.
The HHHS Guidance Office also has copies of the application form.
